東京に本拠を置く国際人権NGOヒューマンライツ・ナウは、強制労働により生産された製品の日本における輸入規制に関する報告書を公表しました。
報告書の発表を機に、このウェビナーでは日本と同じく輸入規制の導入に向けた働きかけを進める韓国と、すでに輸入規制措置がある米国からスピーカーを招き、強制労働の実態や規制導入に向けたアドボカシー、そして米国の輸入規制はどう機能しているのかを解説します。
このウェビナーを通じて、強制労働の根絶に向けて国による施策は多数あるなかで、なぜ輸入禁止措置が効果的なのか、また具体的にどのように日本や韓国で導入を進められるのか、導入した場合、規制により労働環境がどのように改善されうるのかについて、理解を深めます。

Human Rights Now (HRN), a Tokyo-based international human rights NGO, has released a new report outlining recommendations for Japan to introduce import restrictions on products made with forced labor. To mark the publication of this report, we are hosting a webinar featuring speakers from South Korea, where advocacy efforts to introduce similar regulations are underway, and the United States, where such import bans are already in place.
The webinar will explore the current situation of forced labor, advocacy approaches in each country, and how the U.S. import ban functions in practice. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of why import bans are considered an effective tool among various state measures to eradicate forced labor, how Japan and South Korea could proceed with implementation, and how such bans can lead to improved working conditions in global supply chains.
