Human Rights Now send open letters to President Obama and Prime Minister David Cameron

Open Letters

Human Rights Now (HRN) have sent an open letters to President Obama and Prime Minister David Cameron to mark the tenth anniversary of the 2003 Iraq War which took place on 20th March, 2013.

As the international community contemplates and reflects on 10 years of military action, HRN expresses particular concern over the reported use of “inhumane, indiscriminate or toxic weapons, such as depleted uranium weapons, cluster bombs and white phosphorous munitions” that continue to pollute the environment and pose a risk to the health of young children.

HRN calls upon President Obama and Prime Minister David Cameron to conduct “a thorough and comprehensive investigation of alleged human rights violations” while pressing them on justice and accountability for events during and after the Iraq war.
