On July 22, Human Rights Now held an online training session titled “Consultation and Legal Responses under the Adult Video Appearance Damage Prevention and Relief Law.”
The Adult Video Appearance Damage Prevention and Relief Law, adopted by the overwhelming majority of the House of Councilors and passed into law on June 15, came into effect on June 23 with the exception of penalties. Considering the severity of the damage, this law is a comprehensive legislation that seeks to realize damage prevention and relief regardless of age and gender, and provides victims with a powerful means for legal remedy. Victim support centers such as One-Stop Support Center for Victims of Sexual Crimes and Sexual Violence are expected to serve as a consultation organization.
For this reason, we held an online session targeting those who are involved in victim support so that they can understand the purpose and contents of this law and realize effective damage relief. Human Rights Now will continue to make efforts to ensure that this law is properly implemented and effective damage relief is realized.
