HRN signed a joint statement on Gaza Strip calling for establishment of a commission of inquiry at the Special Session of the Human Rights Council on Gaza Strip

Human Rights Now has signed a joint statement on Gaza Strip calling for establishment of a commission of inquiry to be included in a resolution at the Special Session of the Human Rights Council on Gaza Strip on 23rd July.

Also, HRN sent a request calling upon member states to sponsor or support a resolution of the session, including;
– an immediate cease-fire;
– protection of civilians and adherence of international laws such as the Geneva Conventions;
– lifting the blockage of Gaza Strip;
– ensuring accountability for human rights violations by sending a commission of inquiry.

Resolutions of the Human Rights Council should be gained with broader supports, and HRN hopes your government to make necessary effort to this end. Yet the fundamental principle of adherence of international laws, protection of civilians, and ensuring accountability should not be compromised.
