A 23-year-old Indian woman’s death. HRN calls for sweeping reforms to end all forms of violence against women

India: The death of a 23 year old woman reminds us all that cruel violence against women continues. HRN calls for the Indian government to immediately conduct sweeping reforms to end all forms of violence against women.

Human Rights Now (HRN), a Tokyo-based international human rights NGO, has joined the nationwide condemnation against the recent rape killing of a 23-year-old female student in Delhi, India, on December 16th, 2012. HRN extends its sincere condolences to her family.

HRN has also published a statement, urging the Indian government to conduct sweeping institutional reform of the police, prosecutors and the judicial system, in order to stop violence against women throughout the country.
