Call for Establishment of Commission
Human Rights Now (HRN), together with the Japan International Volunteer Center, Peace Boat and other NGOs working on the situation in Iraq, have sent a joint letter addressed to the Japanese Prime Minister asking for the establishment of a commission of Inquiry on the Japanese policy regarding the Iraq war.
Similar commissions have been established in the U.K. and the Netherlands. HRN and the other NGOs urge the Japanese government to follow them with a review of its policy in Iraq, a country which has suffered the deaths of tens of thousands of innocent people during and after the war in Iraq.
