HRN Calls for Japan to tackle violence against women through ODA

Human Rights Now has called for the Japanese government to address gender issues in its Official Development Assistance (ODA), as well as conducted investigations and advocacy for violence against women in the Asian region. 

Human Rights Now attended the Second Consultative meeting in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the ODA policies on 2 December 2008 and questioned the Ministry about expenditures and effects for ODA projects concerning women’s rights and violence against women.
