Proposed Revision of JBIC Guidelines
On February 1st, 2007, Human Rights Now (HRN) published a proposal on the revision of the JBIC Guidelines for Confirmation of Environmental and Social Considerations in an attempt to include a human rights perspective to the guidelines.
The proposal includes recommendations such as investigation of human rights situations in areas at which projects target and guarantee basic rights of workers who work on projects related to Japan’s Overseas Development Assistance.
