Human Rights Now, an international human rights NGO, endorsed Plan International Japan’s Request for Gender Policy in the Field of Development Cooperation for the G7 Summit.<\/span><\/p>\n

Since its adoption by Sweden in 2014, a feminist foreign policy has become a global trend, with 12 countries, including G7 members Canada, France and Germany, formulating or declaring similar policies. <\/span>The request calls on Japan, which holds the presidency of the G7 summit this year, to consider introducing this policy on “gender equality.” <\/span>Promoting gender equality is an essential element in achieving many of the goals set out in the SDGs, and Human Rights Now urges it to be incorporated into existing development cooperation policies. <\/span>A total of 23 organizations and 8 individuals agreed, and it was submitted to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on March 31, 2023.<\/span><\/p>\n
