The pro-junta vigilante militia Thwe Thout has also killed civilians and was described by a former police official as linked to the junta.<\/p>\n<p>We are also gravely concerned about arbitrary arrests and death penalties without appeal. The junta has sentenced more than 114 people to death and announced it will execute four prisoners, political activists Phyo Zeya Thaw and Kyaw Min Yu and two others, Hla Myo Aung and Aung Thura Zaw. The executions flagrantly violate international human rights standards and must be stopped.<\/p>\n<p>We finally call on governments and companies to ensure none of their business supports the junta or military, enabling their violations, such as the agreement of prominent Japanese companies financing the Y-Complex project on military land, which should be withdrawn.<\/p>\n<p>Thank you.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>HRN has given an oral statement for the Human Rights Council in Geneva on the dire human rights situation in Myanmar since last year&#8217;s coup, in particular the killing of civilians by the junta and military.
