\u30fbThroughout the process of fact finding mission and negotiation with UNIQLO, Human Rights Now came to a conclusion that just considering the formality of The UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, commonly known as “Ruggie Principle”* alone does not solve Human Rights violation. For instance, there are no further CSR strategies taken by Japanese corporations to prevent further human rights violation aside from strengthening the monitoring. <\/p>\n
\u30fbby introduce past mistakes and success cases on Business and Human rights approach, participants will learn strategies to react, improve and prevent the human rights violation based on through understanding on Human Rights due diligence in any cases where Japanese companies get involved. <\/p>\n
\uff0aThe UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights were proposed by UN Special Representative on business & human rights John Ruggie, and endorsed by the UN Human Rights Council in June 2011. In the same resolution, the UN Human Rights Council established the UN Working Group on business & human rights.<\/p>\n
